Kwan fires her coach just a few months before the Olympics.

I sure hope the coach "deserved it".

He'd only been her coach for 8 years, and now, just before the Olympics, he is dumped.

This type of behavior is not "tolerated" in the real world. In the fickle world of a hormonally driven young girl, it is a way of life.

In a true, noble, and typically male gesture, the "coach" didn't want to ruin Kwan's chance for success, and has not made a scene or caused a distraction as Kwan attempts to get the gold...all by herself.

Afterall, the coach she dumped can go out and find another young skater to nurture for 8 years and get another chance to go to the Olympics.... rolleyes
